Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens were a secret for more than 70 years. Restored to their former splendour, the gates are open again so you can explore this magical place.
Within Anglesey’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and just minutes from the Menai Strait, Plas Cadnant’s Hidden Gardens are easy to find.
Stroll around the beautiful walled garden. Wander through a wooded dell full of fabulous plants and flowering shrubs. Pause beside a bewitching stream of natural pools and waterfalls. The gardens are bordered by a SSSI (site of special scientific interest), home to the delightful Red Squirrel, rare ferns and mosses. Every step in this 10-acre paradise is a moment to treasure.
Plant lovers will find many rare and unusual specimens, with plants from the gardens available to buy. In Spring azaleas; rhododendrons; magnolias and camellias show off their blooms. The bluebell glade is beautiful in April. May and June is the time for candelabra primulas, roses and dazzling poppies. In summer the garden is bursting with colour, especially the flowers in the double herbaceous borders. Children will be amazed by the giant Gunnera plants that grow phenomenally fast. From late July into Autumn the display continues with over 100 varieties of Hydrangea and many late-season plants continuing to provide interest in the walled garden and the valley gardens.
Our Traditional Tea Room offers a relaxing break before or after your visit to the garden. With luscious home made cakes and freshly made pots of tea or coffee for you to enjoy.
